Sometimes I really, really hate having a busy day. I ended my work day in Baldwin, ran home to Copiague and then rushed over to Bethpage (almost late) to my playoff roller hockey game. I sit here now showered, digesting a late dinner (Chicken Parm Fra Diavlo Hero) and enjoying a frosty Blue Moon lager.
Why am I annoyed about being busy? Today our Islanders were also busy, announcing new blogs for Chris Botta and Corey Witt. They also named fan site Islanders Mania the official message board of the New York Islanders.
For those who may not know who Chris Botta and Corey Witt are – a brief explanation:
Chris Botta has been employed by the Islanders for the better part of 20 years and is currently the V.P. of Media Relations. Chris has blogged on the Isles site throughout the summer, under the title "Point Blank". Chris has a great sense of humor and really has a knack for sharing his perspective on the inside workings of the team. Please check out his blog over at http://nyipointblank.blogspot.com/.
Corey Witt is entering his third season as Islanders Media Coordinator and is considered by Chris as the go-to blogger for the inside info of things to come this season. You can tell Chris is new to the whole blogging concept, but I really think his blog will take off once he gets the hang of it. Just check out some of his recent posts at the official "NYI Media Blog": http://nyimediablog.blogspot.com/.
So to Chris and Corey – I wish you guys nothing but the best in this crazy blogging world! Check the links area for a link to both of these great blogs. I am excited to see how they develop over the course of the year.
Onto Islander Mania, this is a board that has been around for quite some time and today was named the official message board of the Islanders. Great news for that site, they should see an influx in traffic and it won't be fun over there for the first short while. Unfortunately, I have only been a member of that site for a few months so I cannot really comment on the site much – but it seems like they have a core group of members and is an overall great place to read about the team. Check out Islander Mania for yourself: http://www.islandermania.com.
So yea, again I am a tad late reporting the latest on the team – but it was worth it. I had two points in our playoff win tonight, and we advance to round two tomorrow.
