All New Islanders TV

I was at NY Brew Fest in New York City last night, when an email from Islanders Insider came across my phone – Islanders TV had been updated. I couldn't wait to get home to see to see the new look.

The front end (design) looks like it has been completely re-done, very crisp and clean. There are a bunch of new features – Center Ice feeds (although you need to be a subscriber already), Pay-Per-View, and Islanders Insider videos and a weekly podcast from Ted Nolan called “Ted's Time”. The biggest and best addition was something I mentioned back when I first started the blog, pre-season games will be covered by Islanders TV.

The first game will be on Monday, September 17 at 7:00 PM. But you can also catch the pre-season games on Center Ice online, via their free preview.

You can now also access the same content for any team in the NHL, as the company who provides the content for the Islander – NeuLion, is also doing the same for every team in the league.

A few things that I dislike
You need to sit through advertisements now. You have no choice to skip them, which isn't the end of the world but is still rather annoying.

It also appears as if they are gearing up to make this a pay service, as some of the videos have a price (free right now) next to them. This could be because of the new PPV feature however.

In the end, it is nice to have a great deal of coverage on the team. I guess that the positives outweigh any negatives thankfully.

Check out more at Islanders Website.
