Injury Updates

Two days in a row, I sit in my work van clumsily typing away iPhone style to bring an update.

The Islanders Website features a great update on our injured players. Witt underwent an MRI and will sit again tonight, he will see the teams specialist and is listed as day to day.

Martinek is listed as “close” so we could see him shortly.

The Isles are calling Fisher’s hit on Fedotenko a “blatant elbow” which I disagree with, but the news there is no word on status. However, if he cannot play tonight they say someone would be called up – Tambellini? It would make sense considering he flew to Ottawa only to be turned around when Miro felt good to go.

Kudos to fellow blog boxer NYIsles1 who runs an anoymous blog at New York Islanders Fan Central for the mention on the Islanders website. He really does a good job, and as a late pick for the blog box really deserves the accolades.

Ill be at the game tonight shooting pics and may live blog if the mood is right.

Should be a fun game as always, I love when the Habs visit, although not when Higgins or Komisarek score.

Updated 6:29PM

Got home later from work than I was expecting, so there will not be a pre-game post – I will do a recap when I get home and as much as I can from the game tonight.

Nolan on Witt, per Mark Herrmann’s post on Greg Logan’s blog:

Ted Nolan said this morning that the team’s solid defenseman has made considerable progress for someone who barely could move a few days ago. Nolan gave a cryptic “we’ll see him sooner rather than later” in projecting his return.

Herrmann also says that Tambellini was indeed called up to replace Fedotenko, but yet Corey Witt mentions in his NYI Media Blog that Fedotenko was cleared to play and will dress. Poor Tamby, all this up again – down again has to have his head spinning in circles.

So cryptic is the word of the day today regarding the Islanders – because I am more confused on this Fedotenko situation than I was before. I will update the post when the lineup is announced.

Off to the game – hopefully I make it on time!
