Witt’s Back, Nielsen Out!

Brendan Witt Getting ready to head out the door to the Coliseum and I wanted to give you a quick update.

Brendan Witt will return for today’s game against the Flyers, after missing 8 games with a sprained MCL! However, with good news comes bad news (Isn’t that always the case?). Forward Franz Nielsen will miss the next 2-4 weeks after suffering an undisclosed shoulder injury during Thursday’s game against the Thrashers. Nielsen was hit awkwardly between two separate players and his arm went limp as he left the ice in obvious discomfort. Hopefully Franz will be back rather quickly, but in the meantime the Islanders have called up forward Jeremy Colliton from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

You can read more on both stories over at the Islanders Website!
