Michael,

I look at this way. Brandon had one incident seven years years ago, not the 8 that Simon has had just in the NHL. Also as you quoted from Botta quoting Brandon, he called himself out in no uncertain terms. From the other articles I have read about the incident, he took the same tone about himself there as well.

Whether he makes the team or not, he certainly deserves the chance more than Simon ever would have.

Doc,

There were some questions on who the team would use in an enforcer role. As of right now Sim is the only real agitator - unless they call up some toughness from Bridgeport.

If Sudgen is used sparingly, I see no reason why he can't help the team out from time to time.

While it does bare some similarity to Simon's "situation", I feel this is different in some way, maybe because it has such a feel good back story?

Sounds to me like another Chris Simon project. Doesn't seem like the appropriate chance to take with all the positive momentum of having the great draft and having Scott Gordon as the new head coach.

Stick with the youth and let Guerin lead the team as the Captain.
