It may look empty now, but in a few hours hockey is back at Nassau Coliseum as the Islanders are set to take on the New Jersey Devils at 7pm. I couldn’t help but snap a quick picture of the Barn as I was passing this morning – I happen to pass a handful of times a week in my endless travel all over Nassau.

The Blog Box is back in action for Season Two – so be sure to check out all the blogs tonight for a recap of the action. I may or may not live blog, but I am sure one or two of the others will be as the game is not being televised.

The lineup isn’t what we will see once the season starts, but it will be close. 29 players were recently sent down to Bridgeport, but there at quite a few players on the roster looking to earn a roster spot. Thomas Pock is set to make his debut, and there are rumblings of a DiPietro return – possibly by Saturday in Florida.

This is what the fall and winter are all about for me, and the only thing that gets me through the cold weather at work.

I’ll update this post more when I get home.
