Scott Gordon to Serve as Assistant Team USA Worlds Coach?

closeThis post was published 14 years 5 months 28 days ago which may make its content inapplicable to the current Islanders roster and/or team news. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.

Edit: Chris Botta, as always – received clarification on this story and Gordon will be an assistant for the World Championships. Even still, it’s a great honor to be included in any aspect regarding world play. PS, I never corrected the daylight savings time – so I corrected the post to read 3:18pm instead of 2:18.

Just came across a video clip on CBC that discusses Islanders head coach Scott Gordon as a potential assistant coach for Team USA for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. It should be announced officially shortly.

Good for Gordo!

Also regarding the 2010 Team USA roster, Greg Logan has a post up this afternoon pertaining to Kyle Okposo as a candidate for Team USA.

Interesting development, both individuals would certainly benefit from some Olympic experience for their home country!
